Fans have gathered in Manchester City Centre to lay tributes to former One Direction Member, Liam Payne who died in Buenos Aires in October.
100’s of fans has today been gathering in Manchester City Centre to pay tribute to singer and former One Direction member Liam Payne after he was found dead after falling from a balcony in Buenos Aires, Argentina.
The gathering took place in Cathedral Gardens, just across from Manchester Victoria.
Liam Payne was best known for his time spent in One Direction with hits such as ‘Best Song Ever’ as well as his rising solo career with hits such as ‘Strip that down’ and ‘Teardrops’.
Following gatherings across the UK, including Payne’s hometown of Wolverhampton, tonight fans gathered in Manchester to pay their respects.
The evening included many floral tributes, a sing a long and balloons being let off nearing the end of the tribute.

Payne died of multiple traumas and ‘internal and external haemorrhage’, a post-mortem report explains. Argentina’s National Criminal and Correctional Prosecutor’s Office No 16 said it was investigating the incident as an “inconclusive death”.
Britian’s Got Talent auditions have also restarted today in Blackpool after them being postponed due to Payne’s death.
It was also announced today that his former bandmate, Zayn Malik would be postponing his US leg of his tour ‘STAIRWAY TO THE SKY’ in the coming weeks. He wrote on X that it was due to the ‘heartbreaking loss experienced this week’. He said that the dates would be rescheduled for January 2025 and that all current tickets will remain valid for the new dates.
